Festivals are special occasions for the joyful, peaceful and harmonious celebration of tradition, culture and heritage.
The school embraces the best values from different world cultures as well as Indian traditions. Through celebrations of festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Janamashtmi, Christmas, Dusshera, Independence& Republic Day in the school, the children are exposed to the rich Indian cultural and spiritual heritage, developing real respect for their nation.

Celebrations foster relationships between teachers and students and provide the ideal diversion from our monotonous routine to make life more interesting. Younger generations gain a lot of knowledge about legends from these celebrations. Students also learn to respect tradition by participating in school celebrations of the best festivals.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

To commemorate the anniversary of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5th September.
We organize a special program to celebrate Teachers’ Day on 5th September. Actually, it is a reminder of the role that teachers play in nation-building by guiding and educating the brightest minds of our country.
Senior students visit the classroom on this day, give a lecture on the specific subject and tell junior students how much fun it is to learn new things in a classroom. And everyone enjoys it.
Religious Festival Celebrations
Religious festivals like Pola, Gopalkala&Dahihandi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra and Christmas teach children the value of family, tradition and morals. Students gain insight into the culture and its beliefs from it. All religions, though, make an effort to spread love, tolerance and understanding through a variety of rituals. The main purpose of celebrating this religious festival is to express gratitude to the Creator.
National Festivals Celebration
On October 2nd, the school celebrates the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi. His method of non-violence always inspires us. The International Day of Non-Violence is also celebrated on this day.
On the 15th of August, we celebrate our country’s journey thus far and remember our forefathers’ struggles. Students give speeches about independence and the freedom of our soldiers and heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country so that we might be free. Teachers inspire students in the struggle for freedom and the diverse culture of our country.
In Sharad Pawar International School, Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary students, along with all of the teachers, management and other authorities, celebrate RakshaBandhan with great fervor and excitement. One of the major purposes of celebrating “RakshaBandhan” is to realize children about the beautiful and meaningful bond of love that exists between a brother and a sister. The young children wear traditional clothes and joyfully participate in tying rakhi on the wrists of their brothers, who serve as social assistants. They also participate in thali decoration, gift wrapping, rakhi creation and coloring activities.
Yoga is a technique to discover your internal and outward selves. According to a resolution passed by the UN General Assembly, June 21 is celebrated as International Yoga Day. International Yoga Day is celebrated by students and teachers together at school, students demonstrate different yoga poses. All of the students perform warm-up activities and sit and stand asanas while simultaneously receiving an explanation of their significance.
On 19th Feb, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Jayanti celebrates with great pomp in school. The Principal motivates the students by highlighting the important events in the life of Shivaji Maharaj.
Throughout the year, a number of competitions are held, giving students the chance to hone their artistic skills. The students are separated into SIX Intra-Mural Houses, each of which is named after a tall, beautiful mountain range. These are- ARAVALI, HIMALAYA, NILGIRI, SAHYADRI, SATPURA and VINDHYA.
Ganesh Festivals

S.P.I.S. In, festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm and dedication. One such festival is the three-day “Ganesh Festival” held at SPIS. After the installation of “Lord Ganesha Idol”, the three-day festival presents cultural programs including solo songs, solo dances, group dances and skits.
Solo Song:
A solo song is performed on the first day. Every artist sings amazing songs. One participant comes from each house. All the students, teachers, parents and some dignitaries are present as special guests at this event.
Solo Dance:
On the first day of the 3-day festival, a solo dance is performed by the students, this dance performance is very exciting. Each participant makes everyone realizes the innate talent to express and communicate with others by performing their dance.
Group Dance:
On the second day, Enthusiastic dancers entertain everyone with their energetic performances. In this fun-filled entertainment, students perform group dances to Lord Ganesha, Lord Krishna, various Goddesses and Lord Shiva. The audience sees the young students’ enthusiasm and energy as they enthralled everyone with their performances.
Skit:
On the third and last day of Ganesh Utsav, students perform skits. A skit presented by each house is humorous and moralistic. There is perfect coordination among the participants.
ENGLISH ELOCUTION COMPETITION
Students participate in the English Elocution Competition. All of them speak very fluently. They are judged on the basis of pronunciation, inflection, intonation, clarity of voice and gestures. A competition like elocution provides them with the necessary exposure to develop the next generation of orators.
MARATHI ELOCUTION COMPETITION
As we all know, Marathi is our mother tongue and we are all proud of it. In the school, a Marathi Elocution Competition is held and all students are encouraged to speak in their native language by providing topics. All of the contestants speak extremely well. Before the final selection, the teacher encourages the students on their pronunciation, voice modulation and expression.
Such festivals are enthusiastically celebrated at the school. On the occasion of this festival, many competitions such as Storytelling competition, Rangoli competition, English debate competition, Art and craft competition and many more are also held for students to learn something new.
The school organizes a variety of competitions on the occasion of various festivals throughout the year to give students plenty of chances to demonstrate their abilities, identify their unique strengths and grow as thinkers and competitors.
